The Isak cushion has a very special history for me. The first sketches were made back in 2016 when Anderssen & Voll participated in an international design research project called "Furnishing Utopia". This project took place in the Hancock Shaker Village in Massachusetts, a place known for the craftsmanship of the Shaker movement. The simple, clean yet meticulous design of the Shakers has a modern and timeless quality that is still very relevant today. This is exactly the feeling I get when I see the cushion - it combines tradition with the needs of our time in a very touching way.
