One of the first five pieces of furniture that Hans J. Wegner designed exclusively for 'Carl Hansen & Søn' in 1950 and which is now being reissued by the Danish label: the CH23 chair with wickerwork.
The 'CH23' is an early example of Wegner's unique design language and craftsmanship. It features many familiar details, including the elegant cross-shaped covers in the backrest and the double-woven seat.
Hans J. Wegner was a master at making the complex appear simple. Despite the many fine details, the 'CH23' appears simple and light. A beautiful Nordic chair that is perfect for the dining room, but also provides Scandinavian accents as a single piece in the bedroom.
Thanks to the well thought-out construction and organic shapes, the chair is very comfortable.
