painted and powder-coated steel

wipe the surface with a cloth. moisten the cloth with cleaning solution. then wipe the surface dry with a cloth.
remove stains with non-abrasive cleaning agents.
do not use steel wool under any circumstances!

veneered and lacquered wood surfaces

wipe the surface with a clean cloth made of non-abrasive material. wipe with a mild, ph-neutral cleaning solution (ph 7-8). you can also prepare a cleaning solution yourself using dishwashing liquid and lukewarm water. please note: pour the cleaning agent onto the cloth and do not apply directly to the furniture surface. do not leave the cleaning agent on the surface. wipe the surface first with the cleaning solution, then with clear water and finally with a dry cloth.
do not use ammonia or aggressive cleaning agents. these can cause the veneer to peel or the lacquer to dissolve.
wipe veneer surfaces with a thin layer of lacquer or stain in the direction of the grain with a dry cloth.
use silicone-free furniture care products, as silicone makes subsequent re-staining/varnishing more difficult.
