Shelf Zoll D with 2 shelves by Moormann

Zoll D is a shelving unit that impresses with its reduction and versatility. Created in 1993 by Basel designers Lukas Buol and Marco Zünd for Nils Holger Moormann, it combines clear lines with functional sophistication.

Boxes and shelves are made of the same material and fit together precisely. Thin metal sheets are formed into sturdy shelves through targeted folding. The boxes can be inserted precisely into the resulting recesses. No tools or additional connecting parts are required to create shelves that are both visually and structurally impressive. Simply turn the boxes - and the compartments can be loaded from all sides.

The configuration of Zoll D always remains flexible: boxes can be repositioned at any time and the shelf can be extended as required. Behind the simple appearance lies a complex development process, as the exact fit between the recesses and boxes is essential for the stability of the system. As a result, the shelf had to cross the line several times during its development - and always received the same stamp: inch D.
