Carl Hansen & Søn CH011 coffee tables 130 x 55cm A sturdy coffee table made of solid wood with an uncomplicated construction. The CH011 Coffee Table was designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1954. Its four tapered legs tilt slightly outwards towards the two sides of the table, lending the solid table top an elegant lightness that is further emphasized by the rounding of the legs towards the floor. Thanks to the simple expression and the natural wood surface of the table top with its longitudinal grain, it can be adapted to a variety of uses. The CH011 is primarily intended as a coffee table, but also works well as a sideboard thanks to its slim design. A solid wooden frame acts as a link between the table top and the legs. It is shaped like a wide version of the letter H. This serves the following purpose: it stabilizes the solid wood table top and, with its angled cut at the free ends of the H, ensures that the removable legs stand at an angle. The softly rounded profiles of the rectangular table give it an inviting look that goes particularly well with many Wegner wooden chairs. The CH011 coffee table is made of oak and is available in three heights thanks to the three available leg lengths. The CH011 is part of the same series as the CH008 round coffee table. Designer Hans J. Wegner Hans J. Wegner is considered one of the most creative, innovative and productive Danish furniture designers. Wegner is often referred to as the "master of chairs" - and he created almost 500 chairs in his lifetime, many of which are considered masterpieces.
