Warehouse Sale: 'Paulistano' Sessel in Canvas -20 %

1 pieces(s) left

The Brazilian architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha is at least as influential as Oskar Niemeyer. Now over 80 years old, he taught at the University of São Paulo for many years and was president of the Brazilian Association of Architects. His first building, the Club Atletico Paulistano from 1958, set the style for São Paulo's architecture. He designed the Paulistano chair for the lounge, which is now part of the MoMa's permanent design collection.

'Paulistano' is a cantilever chair made from a single bent steel tube. Despite its enormous lightness and economical use of materials, the chair is very comfortable. The seat shell is modeled on the body and the cantilever construction pleasantly cushions the weight. If that doesn't invite you to hang out and sip a caipi... even outside! The fabric is made of weatherproof cotton canvas. But we also have a leather version for you in the store!

You can choose from four versions of the base, but please note that only the white and black lacquered base is suitable for outdoor use.
