The model with the cryptic name EA 222 is a comfortable armchair from the famous Soft Pad family, designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1969. With its prestigious appearance, it is somewhat reminiscent of the dignified furniture from Mad Men - and radiates timeless elegance.
The tilting mechanism can be individually adjusted to the user's weight and, together with the soft, sewn-on upholstery, ensures a high level of seating comfort. These cushions also form an exciting contrast to the slim aluminum profile, which retains the lightness and clarity of the design despite all the comfort.
In the current version, the EA 222 is available in three high-quality fabric variants that differ in terms of composition, appearance and color. The aluminum elements are optionally chrome-plated, polished or powder-coated.
Vitra has now extended the range of powder coatings: In addition to classic black, there is now also dark bordeaux and chalk. The two colors are inspired by the Eames classics Aubergine and Parchment and open up exciting new configuration options for the chairs of the Aluminium and Soft Pad Group.
A design classic with character, comfort and new variety.
