The model with the cryptic name EA 222 is a cozy armchair from the Soft Pad family, designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1969. With its prestigious appearance, it is somewhat reminiscent of the dignified furniture from Mad Men - a timeless classic with charm.
The tilt mechanism can be individually adjusted to the user's weight and, together with the soft, stitched upholstery, ensures a high level of seating comfort. The contrast between the sumptuous upholstery and the slender aluminum profile gives the armchair a special tension without losing transparency and clarity.
The aluminum elements are available in a choice of chrome-plated, polished or powder-coated finishes. Vitra has now extended its powder-coated range: In addition to classic black, dark bordeaux and chalk are now also available. Inspired by the Eames colors Aubergine and Parchment, they open up fresh, elegant possibilities for the design of the Aluminium and Soft Pad Group.
An iconic armchair that combines comfort, design history and new variety.
