With its autumn innovations, Vitra brings a breath of fresh air to tried and tested forms - with new materials, colors and a special feel for what rooms need today.
First and foremost: the Slow Chair - now available in a soft bouclé version. The iconic armchair remains what it is: generous, restrained, elegant.
And the Eames family also shows itself in a new light - with local woods, natural colors and materials that are here to stay. A gentle revision that remains true to itself and yet breaks new ground.
We are delighted to share these new products with you - and invite you to consciously design your home this season.
Thinking ahead with design classics also means bringing them into the present - in terms of their function, their materiality and their responsibility. Vitra is consistently pursuing this path and giving the Eames Collection a noticeable sustainability update without losing its character.
European woods such as cherry, chestnut and walnut are now used for selected furniture - supplemented by oak and ash. They come from controlled forestry and have a natural, warm appearance that blends in perfectly with modern living environments.
The surface treatment has also been rethought: instead of classic lacquer, hard wax oils and water-based lacquers are now used. This not only makes the furniture more environmentally friendly, but also allows the grain and depth of the wood to appear more visible and honest.
Another step towards the future is the use of V-Foam, the first economically recyclable polyurethane foam, which is used in selected upholstered furniture - durable, comfortable and resource-saving at the same time.
The Eames Collection thus remains what it always was: a milestone in design. And today it is more responsible, natural and contemporary than ever.
