When we asked Miguel Milá to adapt his iconic TMM lamp for tabletop use, he swapped wood for metal to make the design lighter and replaced the cross-shaped base with a round one—which blends in more discreetly in an always-cluttered workspace. However, he retained the ingenious system of a simple rubber ring that allows the shade to be secured at the desired height, as well as the characteristic gesture of turning the lamp on and off with a gentle tug on the cord. A metal disc on the stem gathers and guides the cable, allowing it to blend seamlessly into the overall design. And the elegant, white parchment lampshade, which can rotate freely around its axis, ensures that its warm light gracefully adapts to its surroundings.
