Spectral Light from Artemide

The lamp consists of 12 light wavelengths that are emitted by 12 LEDs of different semiconductors and correspond to the 12 wavelength peaks that are perceived by the creatures we have selected: Humans, dogs, cats and plants. To avoid unnecessary risks for people with age-related macular degeneration, we do not emit short blue-violet wavelengths below a minimum of 470 nm, as the wavelengths between 415 nm and 455 nm (and especially at 430 nm) are dangerous for the retinas of these people with AMD. The wavelengths that ultimately make up the lamp are therefore 470 nm (blue), 534 nm (green) and 564 nm (amber) for humans. For dogs, the wavelengths are 470 nm (blue) and 555 nm (lime green). For cats it is 500 nm (cyan) and 556 nm (green) and for plants 470 nm (blue) and 662 nm (deep red). Then we group some of the 12 wavelengths between animal and plant species that are close to each other. We then multiply the number of LEDs of certain lengths in proportion to the spectral intensity of the sunlight to reproduce the natural sunlight quality when all the LEDs are switched on. A special "night program" is proposed in which only the wavelengths above 550 nm are retained. The convex shape of the upper part of the sphere makes it possible to direct the 12 wavelengths of light, which are then transmitted through transparent glass beams onto the opaline surface of the glass sphere to focus, mix and homogenize their light and colors to produce the white light spectrum of natural sunlight by adding and synthesizing the colors.
