Ixa - Reading light from Artemide

Inspired by the dynamic sculptures of Alexander Calder, the design interprets the idea of "elegant balance" through precision engineering. The Artemide Ixa reading lamp is a complete and transversal family of luminaires created by combining a swiveling spherical head with rods and counterweights that allow it to bring light into the room and move freely to define functional and dynamic lighting scenarios. The intelligent and scalable principle allows the Ixa family to evolve with new versions. A larger head is combined with two new wall and ceiling structures that have been recalibrated to balance the weight and bring light into the space and meet different lighting requirements. Ixa puts the light where it is needed and invites a physical interaction with the object, with which we consciously become creators of our light space by calibrating it as needed. Ixa is an expression of functional, productive and sustainable intelligence through reduction and simplification; the result of a profound design know-how.
