Function with poetry and meaning
We are visiting Simone Züger - designer, artist and entrepreneur. Her work moves between art and design, between gallery and living space - characterized by reduction, clear materiality and poetic design language. She designs furniture and objects that are not loud, but have character - and therefore last a long time.
Design that works - and doesn't just work
For Simone, good design starts with function - but it only feels right when soul is added.
Good design combines sense and sensuality, function and poetry. A good object accompanies us for years, perhaps for a lifetime. It has character, but no volume. When design succeeds, it creates identity - it tells us something about ourselves.
This approach runs through the studio: every project is created from an understanding of the context, the people and their needs. Not faster, not louder - instead, precise and with foresight.
Brand meets furniture, voice meets mood
Simone works across a broad spectrum: from interiors and objects to spaces and brand identities
And she is not alone: together in various collaborations, she combines her passion for aesthetics with social responsibility - for example through her initiatives on equal rights in the design sector
For us at Mooris, this means that we can't just offer a product - we can also deliver an attitude. Because when Simone is involved, it's not just about form or material - it's about experience.
Cooperation with substance
As part of the collaboration, we accompanied Simone in the studio. From model making to the series idea - we saw how slowly an idea grows, how materials are read, shapes checked and designs tested.
The result? An object that works in the room - and beyond it.
Quality is evident where things are given space and time.
What inspires us about Simone Züger's work is not just what is visible - but what resonates: an attitude, a calm, a clarity that you don't have to overlook in order to feel it.
Where design does not have to be loud to be effective.
Where clarity leaves more of an impression than abundance.
And where objects don't just stand there - they tell a story.
We are all the more delighted to present the "Vulcano" candle holder as part of our Mooris x Vitra pop-up - a special piece with character and the perfect gift for anyone who loves design with depth.
