Strehlgasse in Zurich is no longer just a hotspot for shopping-loving tourists - it now also has a new highlight for dog lovers. 🐾

Together with Sarah Walser, Sharon Schäfer has created a place that not only makes our four-legged friends happy, but also their owners: the Dog Boutique.

Sharon welcomes us on a sunny late summer's day together with her dog Inu - whose name simply means "dog" in Japanese - into her very personal realm. Almost three years ago, she launched her carefully curated range for design- and health-conscious dog lovers. At the end of 2022, she was able to move into these beautiful premises in a prime location. Demand grew quickly, the range expanded - and soon there was a lack of storage space and an aesthetic, clearly laid out presentation area.

In her search for the perfect solution, Sharon came across String Furniture - the Swedish furniture label that uses modular systems to create stylish and flexible designs for both private and business spaces.

"It was love at first sight: the fine side ladders, the iconic shelves, the clever drawers and accessories - exactly what I was looking for."

Together with store manager Jan from Mooris, an interior concept was created that fulfills Sharon's desire for a homely atmosphere.

Today their elegant beige-grey string shelves present high-quality dog collars, cuddly dog clothes, great leashes, collars and accessories, handmade ceramic bowls and of course a large selection of healthy food. There is so much to discover!

"The food trends of the moment - vegan, organic, regional - also find their place here for our four-legged friends. Implemented with the same love that we want for ourselves."

Sharon's concept is flourishing - during our visit and the photos taken, tons of tourists and curious passers-by stream past the perfectly located store. And they are curious to see what there is to discover in the homely store.
Many of them buy something for their dog at home - and are not afraid to spend large sums of money or carry a lot of extra luggage. But it's not just the location, the range and the furniture that make the Dogboutique a success: it's authentic through and through.

Sharon and Sarah love dogs unconditionally.

Whether it's Inu or Coco - Sharon's other dog - one of them is always involved. And encourages visitors to go into raptures - and to engage in lots of small talk or shop talk.
